will they ever learn?

i’d a hectic week with han & his cold PLUS an with his sore & torn cheek. "cheek” u might ask? yup, he’d a minor accident at the bundu tuhan retreat centre last thursday. ah kong & ah ma rushed him down as he needed medical attention. he was supposed to stay the weekend with them as they were there for a church seminar. thank GOD it was “small matter” as the doctor puts it. he was “galloping” all over as usual, yes, without looking where he was running into which was a bench! skipping the bloody scene & panic-stricken ah kong & ah ma, he was seen by a cousin doctor at the sabah medical centre about 9-ish(pm) & was given a jap. phew, no stitches required.

what a ride they must have had! an now can’t take hard food as his wound needs healing. no more cookies for him! no brushing of teeth as well & washing of hair. lots of dos & don’ts.

an is OKAY! he’s still as happy & active as ever! sometimes he forgets & LOL which will naturally cause pain to his cheek. you can then see him cringe. BOY OH BOY!

han is down with a bad cold & the doctor gave him 4 types of syrup to take. poor baby! despite the cough & runny nose, he's still smiling :o)

i heard him imitating his big bro this morning while i was trying to snooze for a few more precious minutes. he was attempting to say "ambulance". of course it didn't sound at all like the original but i was amazed by him. big bro an is into anything with wheels, wings, propellers, engines, etc. if lil' bro han is constantly copying big bro an, i presume he'd know how to say "car" before he calls me "mama". haha!

han @ 11 months!

they sure grow up fast! i still remember meeting him for the first time. he was so tiny at 2.6kg & red, not to mention wrinkly. now he’s going from babyhood to becoming a toddler. i sure enjoyed his lil' fingers & toes, not that his fingers & toes aren’t lil' anymore but it’s different from when he was born. mommies will know what i mean!

han can now stand without support for a good 10 seconds. he can walk with someone holding his hand. i believe an started walking earlier. ah well, every kid is different. han is more verbal at this age, eager to imitate sounds & loves to hum. an was more active then, wanting to climb anything & everything.

when all's said & done, both boys are nonetheless my fitness & “patience” trainers. they keep me fit & REALLY try my patience. i reckon that’s what they do best :o)

mommy let me help you unpack!

han was really keen on the groceries the other day. he was digging into every plastic bag. it looked as if he was helping me unpack them. ah mah watched over him while i’d a quick shower & when i was done, han was still on the floor with the bags of groceries. ah kong was with him this time while ah mah went to prepare dinner. dad told me he couldn’t take the bags away from him, han would object & hold on to it. so i watched him for a bit. han would go through the tins attentively as if he knew what they were for. he was most amused with the packet of friskies.

an received his ang pow from ah kong yesterday (not too late, still cny) before he left for a cny party at playschool. i was excited for him because the children were getting a real treat with a lion dance performance. kids these days are so blest! when we were little, dad would take us literally everywhere just so we could watch a lion/dragon dance. kiat(brian) & i would be so thrilled.

anyway i seized my camera & started clicking away which resulted in an having over exaggerated smiles in both pictures. haha! i reckon he looks cute after all! happy ‘chap-goh-meh’ in advance!

after an left for playschool this morning, han happily climbed onto his big bro’s excavator. i grabbed the opportunity of taking a snapshot of his glorious moment. yeah!

it’s harder for me to take pictures of an these days. he choose not to look at the camera when i tell him to or he’ll tell me not to do so. sometimes i’ll be going after him around the house if he’s not into the “kodak moment”. funny but true!

a lil' about my boys

that's an, full name 'noah joshua goh an'. we call him an which means peace. hmm, he doesn't really give us that much peace & quiet around the house. you can hear him asking his 101 questions when he's buried in his fav books or playing with his toys & yes, with pretty loud sound effects. boys will be boys! he'll be turning 4 this may 10th. born in the year of the horse. yup, he doesn't walk. he gallops. he prefers running to walking, thus tumbling & falling more often (accident prone). it's hilarious when he's made to walk, with a wooden spoon in my hand i.e. he sure is a horse. it'd be good for him to take up sports with his level of energy. ben takes him for golf at the lintas driving range these days, hoping to start him early. young as he is, he gets restless easily & his concentration span is well, short.

ben is an avid liverpool fan, so one evening as he was surfing the channel for a football match, an looked at his daddy & said, "i don't like to watch football, i like golf only." i wonder if his interest in golf will go a long way.

this not-so-new addition to the family is han, full name 'eli jonah goh han'. han means strong, masculine. he'll be turning 1 on 17th march & what's awesome about that is mommy & han share the same birthday! he's indeed the greatest birthday gift i've ever received. totally!

he loves his big bro. they get along wonderful except for wanting whatever his bro his holding (book, toy, etc.) in his hands, han will then put up a fuss if he can't or doesn't have his way. tsk tsk. he enjoys throwing things or ripping the newspaper up. i suppose they get into this phase for a bit & grow out of it. an was like that too. now he complains that his lil' bro is misbehaving. ha ha! kids! aren't they just plain adorable!

han's first cny

han's first ang pow from ah kong & ah ma. funnily enough, he doesn't seem very pleased when receiving any red packets for that matter. it was hard for me to get him to smile. it was worst when aunty ivy gave it to him for he was all teary & ready to cry (probably wasn't in the mood for another red packet as he'd just gotten up from his afternoon nap).

will post picture of an when he returns home from his grandpa & ma's house. he's spending cny with them since uncle nico is also back from brunei for the hols.

i returned to work yesterday (bummer!). saving my leave for a hol next month. pray everything works out ok. i need a big break :o)
